Holistic Counseling takes into consideration the "whole person" - mind, body, and spirit. What happens in the mind affects the body, and what happens in the body affects the mind. They are not separate from one another - one very much affects the other. The holistic approach to counseling will deal not only with issues related to mind/emotions, but also with diet, exercise and lifestyle choices-- none of which should be considered a separate entity, but each a part of the whole. As appropriate, counseling sessions may incorporate yoga, meditation, reiki and guided visualization; however, each client's individual preferences are always taken into consideration in developing a plan of action to address issues such as stress management, anxiety, depression, assertiveness or self-esteem issues. The goal is to guide each individual toward their strengths, skills and talents to create solutions toward wholeness and a calm, peaceful balance.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." ~Harold Whitman
If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are - if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time." ~ Joseph Campbell (The Power of Myth, 1988, p.113)
